Freestyle Kick Videos

Remember the four functions of the kick 

  1. Propulsion
  2. Lift
  3. Balance & Stability
  4. Inertia - Constant Speed



Please note for the majority of swimmers I see I would recommend working toward an effective 6 beat kick. The majority of triathletes that I see cannot execute a 2 beat kick effectively enough and therefore create more drag in their kick technique.


Balance and Stability 

There is a great drill here using a single hand paddle and single fin (opposite foot to hand) - this is a great way to enhance the feel for the kick and pull working together through the stroke.
