Dr Paul Nolan
Paul combines a passion for endurance sport with his love of exercise science. A trained exercise scientist, Paul has spent the past six years teaching exercise prescription and physiology at the University of Auckland while completing his PhD. Paul has also competed successfully in a range of events from Ironman, 70.3 Ironman, Marathons and Half Marathons and many other events so has personal experience that he can draw on to support Boost athletes.
Paul's approach to developing training programmes is to look for the weaknesses and strengths in the athlete and then to integrate the best research available, his own experience as a competitor and coach, and the client's ambitions, to develop the right training programme for each client.
Paul completed his Bachelor of Physical Education in 2002 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science in 2003. He completed his MSc in 2011 and submitted his PhD in 2017 (currently awaiting the results). He has a wealth of experience in exercise testing, prescription, and physiology for a wide range of people with a wide range of ambition and fitness level.
